It’s been 10 days since the Black Lives Matter movements have picked up full steam ahead, and more awareness has been raised by protests all over the world, trending Hashtags, and companies and famous influencers putting their money where their mouths are (literally and figuratively).
We at Pangaea pride ourselves on advocating the intercultural nature of our student association, and we want to help give Black people a voice, a chance to be heard, a better future.
So our posts will stay absent, waiting for you to send us your stories. We want to use this platform to boost your voices and make sure your experiences are heard.
In the meantime, while we stay silent, we want to encourage everyone who wants to and is thinking about donating to the BLM-cause to check out these two links with verified donation-programmes for either bail-posting for arrested protesters, legal help, or direct foundations. This is also a YouTube link to a video of Black artists’s spoken words and poems, of which the Ad-earnings go directly to a BLM-cause, in case you can’t afford to donate directly but still want to help (turn off ad-blocker for this to work).
YouTube has recently taken down two of such alike videos uploaded without sound so they can run in the background and not disturb you, yet still generate money for the BLM-cause. I encourage you to email the YouTube support to complain about that action of calling it ‘spam, deceptive practices, and scams’.
You are not alone. We hear you, we see you, we stand with you.
Stay safe out there, mentally, physically, and from hate.
